EUCHEMBIOJ CONFERENCES

SPEAKERS

Jerzy Haber Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences

Prof. Dr. Maciej Szaleniec is a senior researcher at the Jerzy Haber Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences. His research centers on enzyme catalysis, metalloenzymes, and the molecular mechanisms of catalytic reactions, with a strong emphasis on understanding structure–function relationships in biological and bioinspired catalytic systems. Prof. Dr. Szaleniec’s work contributes significantly to the fundamental and applied aspects of catalysis at the interface of chemistry and biology.

Colorado State University

Prof. Dr. Tuğba Özer is a faculty member at Colorado State University, specializing in point-of-care diagnostic devices, microfluidics, electrochemistry, lab-on-a-chip technologies, and biosensor development. Her research integrates engineering and electrochemical approaches to advance rapid and accessible diagnostic platforms. Prof. Dr. Özer is also a Section Editor of EUCHEMBIOJ Reviews and is an alumna of Yıldız Technical University, where she completed her academic training.

Hunan University of Chinese Medicine

Xu-Dong Zhou (Ph.D., associate professor) obtained his Ph.D. degree in pharmacognosy from Peking University in 2015. His research interests focus on searching for natural compounds with diverse structures and bioactivities from traditional Chinese medicines and ethnic medicines. At present, he is mainly engaged in the separation, structural identification, structural modification and discovery of chemical biological function application of active natural products of traditional Chinese medicine. More than 500 compounds have been isolated and identified from a variety of traditional medicines, and active ingredients or lead compounds with excellent pharmacological activities have been found, which provides strong support and exploration for clarifying the pharmacodynamic material basis of TCMs and research and development of ethnic drugs. He is an editorial board member of the European Chemistry and Biotechnology Journal.

Istanbul Technical Univeristy

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniz Sahin is a faculty member at Istanbul Technical University, with research expertise in phage display technologies, cancer-specific peptide discovery, and omega-3 production using microalgae. Her work integrates molecular biotechnology and bioengineering approaches to develop targeted therapeutic and sustainable bioproduct applications.
